The infamously gory and outrageously raunchy Grand Guignol Pop Art Horror Show Live on Stage! has completed its Haunt Season run at Zombie Joes legendary Underground Theatre, to be revived next in June, 2026, for the Hollywood Fringe Festival at the alarmingly intimate Broadwater Theatre Second Stage.

In New York’s drug-fueled 60’s, after recruiting Edie Sedgwick, Lou Reed and Valerie Solanas for screen tests, pop art innovator Andy Warhol decided to abandon his soup can paintings and dedicate himself to making edgy art films. In 1973 he produced “Flesh for Frankenstein” in 3D, a shocking and sexy retelling of the classic horror tale. But are the monsters Andy’s created for his campy cinema assault his debauched actors, or himself?

Award-winning writer/director Steven Vlasak has stitched together a hilarious and heartbreaking gross-out recreating Warhol’s wild Factory years, spotlighting his Superstars, and all the bloody disgusting body parts and carnage crammed into the making of the kitschy classic.

Originally starring Superstars Dan Novey as Andy Warhol, Jordan Mullins as Edie Sedgwick and the Bride, Emma Jansen as Valerie Solanas and Brigid Berlin, Andrew Goetten as Paul Morrissey, and Danny McCarthy as all the depraved guys who aren’t Andy or Paul. Written & Directed by Steven Vlasak. 

WARNINGS: Nudity, graphic gruesome violence, loud noises, flashing lights, and drug use. Did we miss anything? Due to its notoriously immature nature, ADULTS ONLY will be admitted.

PLEASE READ before attending:

SPLASH ZONE: It’s “4D!” and Grand Guignol, so it’s squirty with all that fake bloodshed. So, while not trying to deliberately get any on you and not being “immersive” per se, to avoid immersing you in body fluids the first row of the theatre is designated a Splash Zone. If you chose to sit there, a rain poncho is suggested and available on loan at no extra charge.

PHONE CHECK: Since photography or recording of any kind is strictly prohibited during the performance, phones are not permitted within the theater proper. Your name will be on the will call ticket list for admission, so please leave your phone in the car, or it can be securely checked at the box office in the lobby with a claim ticket issued. 

AFTERSHOW PHOTO OP: Conversely, the audience is encouraged to pose and take social media photos with the costumed cast after the show in the theater lobby after they’ve reclaimed their checked phones. Your phone check claim ticket also enters you in a raffle for an original Warholian Brigid Berlin body art print created during the performance to be awarded to one lucky audience pervert directly after.
